As much as I enjoyed Joey Votto over the last decade and a half, I would take being competitive every season. Playing meaningful baseball in September 3-4 out of 5 seasons beats a wild card once a decade. I would rather have a FO who cared about winning baseball games, than selling tickets.
The botched rebuild has jaded a lot of Reds fans. To sell out GABP will require a Rays approach but the ownership group is not interested in that.
