Merry Christmas, to all of you who celebrate!
Hope everyone out there in The Riverfront Family* is having a wonderful holiday season. I’ve really enjoyed getting to meet and talk Cincinnati sports (and movies) with so many of you since launching this newsletter. I can’t wait for 2024, as we continue to grow steadily week after week.
*We need a better term for the family that has sprung up around The Riverfront. “RFers,” perhaps? No, I don’t think so. Help me out here!
Here at The Riverfront World Headquarters, we’re enjoying some quiet time with family. What’s happening where you are? I want to hear all about the Cincinnati sports-related swag you received for Christmas or, in the alternative, what cool Reds gifts did you give to others?
Here’s my personal gift to you: a 1992 WLWT Christmas special, “All-Star Cincinnati Night Before Christmas.”
I sincerely hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season, however you choose to celebrate it. Thanks for being the heart and soul of The Riverfront all throughout the year.
Good Vibes Only (plus a request)
The best part about the continued growth of this community is that it permits me to stay away from the toxic atmosphere on most social media apps. It’s Good Vibes Only here (until the Castellinis are mentioned, of course), and Substack has created a pretty great space where we can hang out without the nonsense.
Most of you receive the newsletter via email, and if that’s the only way you want to interact, that’s fine! But Substack has a sweet app (which makes it easy to comment on each piece, and interact with me and with each other), and it includes Notes, a social media space for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, but also for discussion of Cincinnati sports-related topics. I know many of you have been looking for a twitter alternative, and while this isn’t exactly it, I’d love for you to join me over there.
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to The Riverfront, you’ll automatically see my notes. You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of The Riverfront can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
A co-worker of mine who is a big time thrifter got me an Eric Davis Funko Pop. It was so cool receiving that. Huge surprise. He said he saw it and got it for 2 dollars at a shop because he knew how much I loved the REDS!!!
Nice! I’ve never seen one of those.
